Next NFDL Village Administrator Could Be Selected This Weekend

The North Fond du Lac Village Board could end up selecting the Village’s next administrator this weekend. Current Village Administrator Chuck Hornung will be retiring in July. The three finalists will meet with Village staff this morning. Hornung says the public can meet them during an open house this evening. He says, “On Friday afternoon about 5 to 6:30 p.m. there is an open house where we invited residents to come and also meet with the candidates just kind of get their impressions of them.” The candidates will meet with two panels Saturday, one made up of administrators from other communities and another consisting of the Village Board. Hornung says after that the board will weigh all the comments from the public, staff and panel and deliberate over choosing a new administrator. The finalists for the administrator’s position are former Village Trustee John Duffy, Nick Leonard the Village’s Director of Engineering and Planning, and David DeTroye of Kiel who has experience working for municipal government including serving as a public works director.
