NFDL Board Looking at Email Options

The North Fond du Lac Village Board has had some discussions about
the privacy of emails to board members. Two members of the board serve on other
boards, the school board and county board, which have email accounts for their
members. Village Board members receive emails from the Village to their
personal accounts at home. Village Administrator Chuck Hornung says that opens
up the possibility of having their private emails exposed if there is an open
records request. It has been suggested that the board go to a system like a Chromebook
or notepads similar to what the Fond du Lac City Council and School Boards use.
Hornung says if they did that it might also allow them to do away with the
paper packets they have to put together for the board when they hold a meeting.
Hornung says he is looking into pricing and other options for the board.
