NFDL Checks Into Environmental Funding For Lead Pipe Replacement

The North Fond du Lac Village Board this week gave its approval for village officials to apply for possible environmental funding from the state. Village Administrator Chuck Hornung says they want to check into the possibility of getting funds to replace lead pipe water services in the village. He says at this point they don’t have specific plans for a replacement program, but are just checking into funding possibilities. He says they may wait to administer them during street construction or make them available if people want their services replaced ahead of time. He says this is just the first step in applying for funding. The village is applying for financial assistance from the State of Wisconsin Environmental Improvement Fund.
