NFDL Food For Families Program Underway

The North Fond du Lac Police Department and its Benevolent Association have adopted 11 families this Holiday season for the “Food for Families” program. Village Police Chief Darren Pautsch says the nearly 30 year old program used to be more of a food drive, but that has changed over the years. Now they ask for donations of cash or gift cards for gas stations, grocery and department stores. Pautsch notes there are people who due to their circumstances have a tough time making Christmas bright for their families. Some of cash and gift cards purchase items the families are in need of and they give the rest of the cards to family to shop for their children. Some items they could use include new in the package socks and underwear for children and adults, new hats, mittens and gloves, new winter jackets, and new toys. Donations can be dropped off at the Police Station in North Fond du Lac Monday through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
