NFDL Police Investigate Social Media Post

A student at Horace Mann High School in North Fond du Lac
is facing charges in Juvenile Court after reportedly sharing a threatening post
on the social media app Snapchat.

North Fond du Lac Police Chief Darren Pautsch said in a
Facebook post that the student created a SnapChat post Tuesday with a “warning
not to come to school”, and shared it with some friends. Pautsch said the
student has been identified and admitted to creating and sharing the post as a “joke”.

Pautsch is asking parents to talk to their kids about the
seriousness of the threats – and to make sure they understand they are not
considered a “joke” in any circumstance. “Regardless of intentions, these words
and actions are frightening, intimidating and disruptive,” the Chief said. He
went on to say that “Police will always investigate and take appropriate
enforcement action.”
