NFDL Referendum Improvements Discussed

The North Fond du Lac School District has big plans for the $29.5 million in improvements voters approved during last month’s referendum. Superintendent Aaron Sadoff says the biggest part of those improvements will come at the Friendship Learning Center and Early Learning Center. He says they will be combining all early childhood classes through 5th grade at the Friendship location and adding on a 90,000 square foot addition that includes the Friendship Field House. He says at the Early Learning Center they will tear down some of the oldest parts and do some renovations that will allow them to have an upgraded daycare and alternative learning. There will also be improvements at the Horace Mann High School and Bessie Allen Middle School. He says that will include additional parking, a new gym at Bessie Allen, a new entrance at Horace Mann, and the offices at Bessie Allen will be moved to the north end to create a secure entrance. He says they are putting out bids for a construction manager, but won’t put out bids for actual construction until the fall or early next year. Sadoff says they hope to break ground early next spring.
