NFDL School District Tax Rate Slightly Less Than Expected

Officials in the North Fond du Lac School District were expecting the mill rate to go up, but the increase wasn’t as much as expected. District Superintendent Aaron Sadoff says that is due in part to a larger than expected increase in property values. Property values went up by 12 percent and the levy will increase by 9 percent. When the school board gave preliminary approval to the budget last month the anticipated tax rate was $10.45, an increase of 81 cents. But the increase won’t be quite that much. The mill rate will be $10.27. The past four years the mill rate has average $9.64. The increase is due in part to the $29.5 million referendum voters passed in April.
