North Fondy Man Looks For Sex On The Internet And Is Nearly Robbed

A 26-year-old North Fond du Lac man claims he awoke at his home in the 400 block of Winnebago Street Wednesday night to find a man in his living room with a handgun. Village Police Chief Darren Pautsch says the victim made a 911 call reporting the incident. He says officers were told a black man showed up with a black handgun and entered his house. The suspect was taken into custody just down the street after his vehicle became disabled. Pautsch says the North Fondy man had gone on the internet looking for prostitutes. He says the women who were in the suspect’s vehicle were from Oshkosh and Neenah and told officers the plan was to distract the man and take his money. The initial arrangement to meet was made on backpage.com. Chief Pautsch says the suspect, a 24-year-old Neenah man, is being held in the Fond du Lac County Jail on a probation hold and tentative charges of criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and bail jumping. Pautsch says no one was very cooperative in their investigation including the victim. Chief Pautsch says additional charges may be filed. He says the handgun turned out to be a black Airsoft pistol.
