North Main Street Fire

A Fond du Lac firefighter was injured during a fire at a
two story building on North Main Street late Friday night. Fire Chief Peter
O’Leary says the firefighter was taken to St. Agnes Hospital for treatment and
one person was treated for minor smoke inhalation at the scene. The fire at 109
North Main caused severe damage to the contents and structure. Firefighters
encountered heavy smoke and fire on the first and second floors. The cause is
still being investigated, but it appears the blaze started on the lower level
and spread to the second floor. The fire was reported just after 10:30 last
evening.  The building housed Natural World Aquariums on the 1st Floor and
apartments on the second. Photo courtesy of Fond du Lac Fire Department.
