Oshkosh Fatal Accident

A 32-year-old Oshkosh man is being charged with Homicide by Intoxicated Use Of a Vehicle for a two-vehicle accident in the 2500 block of Fond du Lac Road Sunday night. Police say a 53-year-old Winneconne man was stopped in the northbound lanes waiting for train to cross when the Oshkosh man struck the rear of his vehicle. The Winneconne man’s vehicle rolled over and ended up against a tree. He died at the scene. The Oshkosh man walked away from the scene, but Police found him hiding behind a tree. He was arrested for the homicide charge, on three warrants, and a probation hold for operating after revocation. The man was taken to Aurora Hospital for medical clearance and then taken to the Winnebago County Jail. A 41-year-old woman who was a passenger in his vehicle was taken to Mercy Hospital for non-life threatening injuries to her face, neck and extremities.
