Oshkosh Man Arrested After Struggle With FDL Police Officer

A 48-year-old Oshkosh man is facing charges after trying to take on a Fond du Lac Police Officer early Monday afternoon. Assistant Police Chief Steve Klein says the man was kicked out of an AA meeting at the Gratitude Club on Ruggles Street shortly after noon. A caller told police the man was “acting crazy.” He had been yelling and screaming and smashed a glass on the ground. An officer responding to the scene saw the man’s car and pulled him over just south of Forest Avenue on Brooke Street. The man got out of his car and rushed at the officer. He didn’t heed the officer’s commands to back off and the officer used a taser, but it had no effect and the officer had to struggle with the man until he subdued him. The officer held the man until help could arrive. The Oshkosh man is facing several charges as a result of the incident. He’s been charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and battery to a law enforcement officer.
