Oshkosh Man Charged For Waupun Chase

Bond has been set at $10,000 cash for a 17-year-old Oshkosh man who led Waupun Police on a chase last Sunday. Giovanni Medina made his initial appearance in Fond du Lac County court this week on nine different charges. Waupun Police Chief Dale Heeringa says an officer tried to pull him over early that morning after seeing him driving erratically. That led to a chase in the northern half of the City. He says the vehicle damaged a soybean field and became disabled. Medina and a 15-year-old girl who was his passenger were caught on foot. He says the most serious charges Medina faces are 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety and two counts of threatening a law enforcement officer. Fortunately no one was hurt and no squad cars were damaged. Heeringa says the car Medina was driving was stolen in Oshkosh so he’s facing a car theft charge in Winnebago County. He has a preliminary hearing in the Fond du Lac County case next Friday.
