Oshkosh Police Search for Escaped Prisoner
Oshkosh Police are searching for an
escaped prisoner from the
Staff at the correctional center reported the escape at 6:38 pm Sunday evening.
The prisoner has been identified as 28 year old Dennis O. Tharp, who police say
has ties to the
area and may be with a woman. Police say he was in prison on drug and weapons
charges, but is not considered to be a threat to the public. Authorities say if
you see Tharp, do not approach him and call law enforcement immediately.
Officers were searching the surrounding area with the K-9 unit from the Omro
Police Department. Anyone who may have information about the location of Tharp
is asked to call Oshkosh Police at 236-5700 or Winnebago County Crime Stoppers
at 231-8477.
