Percentage Of Positive COVID-19 Cases In FDL County Approaches 10%

If you’re playing the stock markets, you like to see gradual gains. When it comes to COVID-19, in Fond du Lac County, the percentages are increasing, but not in a good way. The positive percentage rate is nearing 10% in the county, after hovering under 2% as recently as June 22.

Public Health Officer Kim Mueller delivered that news Wednesday morning, in a joint Facebook Live message with Katherine Vergos from SSM Health. Mueller said the numbers are surprising, with another 30 positive cases reported Wednesday. She said a great many of the almost 200 cases reported in the last few weeks are coming from large gatherings such as golf outings and weddings, with little to no safe practices being implemented. Mueller says it’s also alarming to see spike in cases in the 60-80 year old age group.

Total confirmed cases in the county now stand at 715, with 173 active cases, 534 recovered cases and 9 people currently hospitalized. A total of 15,519 Negative tests have also been processed since testing began in March.
