Petri Supports Our Troops

Congressman Tom Petri this week participated in an event sponsored by the United Service Organizations (USO) to stuff care packages for our troops serving abroad.

The twice-annual event took place on Capitol Hill in the Rayburn House Office Building, where Members of Congress, staff, and guests could pack items such as toothpaste, soap, razors, and other toiletries and send them to U.S. soldiers serving abroad.  The USO has distributed more than 2.3 million care packages to troops around the world since 2003.

“I try to participate in the event each time they have it,” said Petri after handing his care package to a USO volunteer.  “It’s the least we can do to support our men and women in uniform.”
