Pfeffer Retiring After 25 Years as FDL Head Police Chaplain

After 25 years, the City of Fond du Lac Police Department
will have a new lead Police Chaplain. Pastor Paul Pfeffer has served as the
lead chaplain since the program’s inception in June of 1994, and Wednesday’s
law enforcement memorial ceremony was his last official act in the role. Police
Chief Bill Lamb thanked Pfeffer for his service to the department as part of
his remarks on Wednesday afternoon. “In the last 25 years, he has been our
rock, helping us through virtually every type of challenge you can imagine,
including the tragic death of one of our own,” Lamb said. “His service will be
deeply missed.” Pastor Grant Baumgart is taking over the lead chaplain role from
Pfeffer. Baumgart serves as Associate Pastor at Grace Reformed Church in Fond
du Lac. Pfeffer will continue as Lead Pastor at Grace Christian Church.
