Pickup Falls Through Ice on Fox Lake

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and Wisconsin DNR responded
to Fox Lake on Saturday morning after a pickup truck fell through the ice. A
press release says 45-year-old Kevin Kuhl of Cambria and 44-year-old Jeffrey
Munro of Randolph were in the truck and driving northwest from a boat launch when
the truck broke through the ice about 300 to 400 feet east of Maple Point. Both
Kuhl and Munro were able to get themselves out of the truck through the back
window and walked back to a business on shore where they called for help. Both
were treated by Fox Lake EMS crews for abrasions to their hands and exposure to
the sub-zero temperatures. The truck ended up fully submerged in 16 to 18 feet
of water. The sheriff’s office reminds residents to verify ice conditions
before driving on all area lakes.
