Plea Hearing Today For Clinton Lovelace

Motorcyclists are expected to pack a plea hearing in Fond du Lac County Court this afternoon for a 26-year-old Hilbert man who ran into a group of 10 motorcyclists on Highway 151 last year leading to two deaths and seven injuries. Clinton Lovelace faces 13 charges, 12 of them felonies including two counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle for the May 31st 2012 accident. Daniel Winsemius and Douglas Yonkers died from injuries suffered in the crash. Eric Van Dam of Muskegon, Michigan lost a leg. The motorcyclists were a group of 12 returning to Michigan after a trip to Milwaukee. The plea hearing is before Judge Gary Sharpe at 2 p.m. this afternoon. If Lovelace continues to maintain his innocence a jury trial is scheduled for next month.
