Police in Fond du Lac and Beaver Dam are investigating cases
of vandalism to Christmas light displays in area parks.

The Fond du Lac Police Department received a report on
Monday about the theft of Christmas lights and figures from Lakeside Park. The
city Parks Department first discovered the damage over the Thanksgiving holiday
weekend, noting that strands of lights had been taken and some cutout
decorations were also stolen. Reports say some of missing decorations had been
found elsewhere in the park as of Wednesday.

In Beaver Dam, police are investigating vandalism done to
the Rotary Lights display in Swan Park. A news release from the Dodge County
Sheriff’s Office says several of the light displays, trees and a newly created Gingerbread
House were damaged or destroyed. Officials say the vandals used stolen golf carts
to damage the light display. Around $3,000 worth of damage was done at the park
– and authorities say it’s the third time in as many years that theft or
vandalism was happened with the Rotary Lights display.
