Police Week In FDL

The Fond du Lac City Council recently approved a resolution designating this as Police Week in the City. Police Chief Bill Lamb accepted a copy of the proclamation from City Council President Lee Ann Lorrigan. Lamb says he appreciates the support of the Council. He also thanked City Manager Joe Moore and City staff, and the community for their support. Lamb noted tragically this year is the five year anniversary of the shooting death of City Police Officer Craig Birkholz and one year anniversary of the shooting death of State Trooper Trevor Casper. He says police officers are well aware of the risks they take while patrolling City streets. He says the proclamation might just be a piece of paper, but what it represents means a lot. City police will be hosting their annual National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Ceremony at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hamilton Park. The public is invited.
