Progress Continues on Initial Stages of FDL School District Referendum Projects

Progress continues to be made as the Fond du Lac School District
continues to work through the initial stages of the $98.5 million dollars in improvement
projects that were approved by voters in the spring election. Fond du Lac
Schools Superintendent Jim Sebert says the district received the first portion
of the money this week, and continues the preparations as Phase One of the project
comes next year. “We’re into drawing up more detailed plans for the schools in
phase one, which are Theisen, Chegwin, Pier and Waters,” Sebert said. “We are
also now into scheduling soil boring for areas where we are going to do
additions – like an addition at Chegwin, an addition at Theisen, an addition at
Waters.” Sebert says those additions will be part of building safety
improvements, and involve relocating the main offices and creating secure
entrances.

Phase one of construction begins in May of 2020, phase two
starts in May of 2021 and phase three begins in May of 2022.
