Project G.R.I.L.L.

A little rain Friday didn’t dampen the spirits of high school students and the business and industry partners they teamed with for Fond du Lac’s Project G.R.I.L.L. This year’s effort had its biggest partnership yet with nine high schools and businesses. Fond du Lac High School teamed up with JF Ahern and had a locomotive, tanker and caboose with the tanker opening up into a grill. Mayville High School teamed up with Mayville Engineering Company. Mayville High School Senior Alex Giese says they made their grill to be used at the golf course in Mayville. The concession stand known as the halfway hut will go between the 9th and 10th holes. The grill was set up on a tee and looked like a golf ball. Also participating were Campbellsport High School and Mercury Marine, Horace Mann and Agromatic, Laconia High School and Nemesis Metals, Lomira High School and Fives Giddings and Lewis, Oakfield High School and Kodex Corporation, Waupun High School and Mid-States Aluminum and Winnebago Lutheran Academy and Manowske Welding.
