Representative Thiesfeldt Pleased With State Of The State Address

State Representative Jeremy Thiesfeldt has sat through eight State of the State Addresses given by Governor Scott Walker and feels the address Walker gave last week was his best yet. One of the things Governor Walker highlighted was Wisconsin’s low unemployment level of 3 percent compared to a high of 9.2 percent before he took office. Thiesfeldt says one of the issues with that is filling job vacancies and there are over 100,000 of them in the state at this point. He says, “When you are down at this type of unemployment level it is really a struggle to find workers and not just find workers but workers who can do the jobs or have the skills to do the jobs that are available.” The state lawmaker from Fond du Lac also likes the Governor’s proposal to gives families a $100 tax credit for each child they have. He says, “I think it is just another incentive for people to understand that for our society in general, not just Wisconsin, but American society in general. We recognize that marriage and family is the basic unit of our society and the more of that we have the better.” Thiesfeldt is also pleased that rainy day funds continue to climb and about a historically-high $11.5 billion investment in K-12 education.
