Reward Offered For Information On Convent Fire

A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information on last Friday night’s fire at the Holy Nativity Convent in Fond du Lac. Fond du Lac Fire Chief Peter O’Leary says they are still investigating the fire.  Fond du Lac Police and Fire investigators are working with the state fire marshal’s office. O’Leary says information called in to the arson hotline can remain anonymous. He says they took evidentiary samples at the scene of the fire and sent them in to the state crime lab. He says that will determine whether an accelerant was used. He says the fire put a lot people at risk including those who responded to it. Now he says the City will issue a “raze or repair” order and if the building can’t be fixed it will have to come down. He says in its current state it threatens public safety. The arson hotline is 1-800-362-3005. Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue photo.
