Richfield Man Sent To Mental Health Facility For Attacking Teen

The 47-year-old Richfield man who attacked and seriously injured his 13-year-old neighbor with a hammer in August while the boy was mowing his parents’ lawn will spend thirty-one and a half years in a mental health facility. Brian Scott Olson entered no contest pleas this week in Washington County Court to amended charges. Based in part on psychiatrist’s report Judge Andrew Gonring found Olson guilty, but not guilty by reason of mental illness to the charges. Olson has a history of mental health issues.
