Ride To Support Catholic Hospice And Orphanage This Saturday In FDL

A 60-mile bicycle ride around the Fond du Lac area Saturday will benefit a hospice and orphanage for children with AIDS and HIV in Northern Thailand. Meg Whitty is the organizer for the 15th annual Cebo Ride. Her father was a priest who worked with Father Mike Shea who runs the Sarnelli House. She says the ride helps buy medicine, clothes, and books for the children of Sarnelli House. Father Mike grew up in the Fond du Lac area. Whitty says they visited the orphanage two years ago and the kids there are happy and well taken care of. She says the ride will start at Lakeside Park this Saturday looping south and returning to the park. This year for the first time, riders can register online. Last year’s event raised more than $100,000 from bikers and their sponsors. The ride is Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Photo: CEBO Ride Facebook page)
