Ripon Common Council Approves Murray Park Bathroom Improvements

The Ripon Common Council this week approved spending money from a special parks fund to make up the difference in costs for improvements to the Murray Park upper baseball diamond bathroom. The Ripon Little League contributed $10,000 for the proposed improvements. “They wanted to remodel the bathrooms at that park and so they have fundraised about $10,000 out of the $12,000 they needed for the project. And so they did ask the City to contribute. See if we could make up the difference.” City Administrator Lori Rich says the Parks and Recreation Committee had recommended to the Council taking $2,500 out of the park round-up funds. She says, “So the Council did vote to take $2,500 out of the park round-up funds, which is what we have where a customer when they make a payment on their utility bill they can round-up their payment and then that overage is put into the donations account.” Rich says they hope to have the bathroom project completed by June 1st.
