Ripon Common Council Meets For The Final Time In 2017

The Ripon Common Council approved borrowing for a couple of city needs during their meeting this week. City Administrator Lori Rich says about $500,000 was needed for street overlay projects and repairs to their mill pond dam. Both projects were included in the 2017 Budget. Investors Community Bank will loan the money for the repairs for 5 years at 2.3 percent interest and for the street overlay projects for 20 years at 2.55 percent. The Council also approved taking a little over $16,000 out of City’s contingency budget for a new boiler and HVAC controls at the Library. The Council also honored Police Chief Dave Lukoski who is retiring after more than 43 years with the police department.
