Ripon Family Restaurant Fire

Update:

Fire heavily damaged the Ripon Family Restaurant in Ripon early this morning. Fire Chief Tim Saul says a passerby called it in and they responded shortly after 1 a.m. He says upon arrival they had heavy fire conditions showing through the roof with flames about 10 feet in air and 15 feet in diameter. Saul says no one was hurt battling the blaze. He says they got help from the City of Fond du Lac, Brandon/Fairwater and Markesan Fire Departments. He says there was significant damage to the restaurant, which means the restaurant won’t be reopened for a period of time. He says there was nothing suspicious about the cause of the fire. He says it was related to cooking equipment, but the investigation is continuing into the fire and he can’t be more specific about the cause. No restaurant employees were in the restaurant at 708 West Fond du Lac Street when the blaze broke out. (Photo courtesy Ripon Area Fire District Facebook page).
