Ripon Heroin Summit Well Attended

There was a good turnout for the Heroin and Prescription Drug Summit in Ripon this week. Ripon Police Captain Bill Wallner says they were pleased with the community’s participation. He says they had a crowd of about 300 people who got good information from all the speakers who were present. Wallner says it was the first such summit in Ripon, but they will be building on that effort by incorporating some of the same initiatives already implemented in Fond du Lac and Fond du Lac County. He says they will work on heroin prevention treatment and different pillars needed to combat the drug problem. Part of the presentation at Royal Ridges included the group Rise Together. One of the members of the group is Anthony Alvarado who comes from Ripon. Wallner says his story helped get the message across that heroin addiction is a universal problem.
