Ripon Housing Programs Created

The Ripon Common Council recently created two affordable housing programs with money generated from Tax Incremental District #1. City Administrator Lori Rich says they had $183,000 to work with for the two programs. She says they will be awarding grants of up to $10,000 to construct new homes and will give out loans of up to $10,000 to improve existing homes. She says the loans are no interest, no payment loans. She says they extended the life of the TID District by a year, which by state law meant they had to create affordable housing programs with increments generated by the TID. The programs are being called Build Ripon Housing and Renew Ripon Housing.
