Ripon Senior Center Will Keep Operating

It didn’t take the Ripon Common Council long Monday night to decide they will keep the Senior Center operating. A member of the Senior Center Board of Directors had approached a Council member about eliminating the center. The Senior Center Director did a survey that resulted in nearly unanimous praise for the center. Forty-five people took the survey about the Senior Center. City Administrator Lori Rich says the center has about a $15,000 a year budget most of which is used to pay for the part-time director’s position. Council members also received a lot of calls from Senior Center supporters who wanted to see the center in the City Hall remain open.
