Rural FDL Man Charged With Sexual Assault And Weapons Charges

Bond has been set at more than $2.3 million for a rural Fond du Lac man accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl and weapons charges. Forty-four-year-old Jeffrey MacMillan made his initial appearance in Fond du Lac County Court this morning. He’s charged with two counts of 2nd degree sexual assault and three other felony charges in one case and 13 counts of felon in possession of a firearm in another all resulting from a search of his home on Betty Lane last weekend. Assistant District Attorney Dennis Krueger told the judge the two servers that local, state and federal officials confiscated from his home contained more memory than all of the Fond du Lac Police Department’s servers. Krueger says the servers allegedly include at least 200 images of MacMillan sexually assaulting the victim. He also informed the judge that there were two recent bank deposits made by MacMillan of $150,000 each even though his business Ammo Research isn’t succeeding. He also said in 2006 MacMillan and his wife had a combined reported net worth of nearly $1.9 million. Judge Robert Wirtz set bond at $2 million for one case and $350,000 for another saying MacMillan represented a flight risk with charges carrying a maximum of up to 265 years in prison. Krueger says more charges could be brought as the investigation continues. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Friday, January 24th.
