Salad Recall due to E. coli Affects Wisconsin Consumers

A recall of thousands of pounds of salad is affecting
Wisconsin consumers. The US Department of Agriculture says more than 75-thousand
pounds is being recalled by Missa Bay, LLC out of Swedesboro, New Jersey. The salads
containing meat or poultry are being recalled because the lettuce may be
contaminated with a strain of E. coli.

Products were sold between October 14th through
October 16th in 22 states, including Wisconsin. Authorities say the
Maryland Department of Health tested an unopened salad that contained chicken
and the lettuce came back positive for a strain of E. coli bacteria.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says E. coli
often causes diarrhea and vomiting.
