School Library Funding

A number of area school districts will be receiving public school library funds, thanks to earnings from Common School Fund investments. The state’s Board of Commissioners of Public Lands  announced the funding this week. The Fond du Lac School District will receive $246,632 in funding; the North Fond du Lac School District will get $49,816 and the Waupun School District $67,806. Other area districts receiving the funds include Campbellsport ($54,465), Oakfield ($17,357), Ripon Area ($59,719), and Rosendale-Brandon ($33,697). For many school districts this is the only money available to them for library materials including books, newspapers and periodicals, web-based resources, and computer hardware and software. School Districts across Wisconsin received a total of $32.1 million for school library funds.
