Senator Feyen Promotes Sales Tax Holiday Bill

State Senator Dan Feyen is pushing a bill his late predecessor Senator Rick Gudex wasn’t able to get through the legislature. Feyen says if the bill is successful there will be a sale tax holiday on school supplies during the first weekend in August. He says there will be limits on it but the sales tax holiday the first Saturday and Sunday in August will save state taxpayers $11 million a year. Feyen says they wanted the sales tax holiday to start this year and for that reason it wasn’t included in the state budget. He says some people living along Wisconsin borders will cross over to states that have sales tax holidays to save money on school supplies, which cost our own retailers in lost profits.
