Senator Feyen Waiting On DOT Audit Report

State Senator Dan Feyen  says his staff checked with the state’s Department of Transportation and a report on the audit of the DOT isn’t available yet. He says they do expect to find some waste and areas that could be more efficient, but he says it still won’t be enough to make up for the funding challenges facing the department. He says that still won’t fix problems involving the heavy borrowing for road projects or the projects they are behind on. Feyen says main highways are in pretty good shape, but townships are having a difficult time fixing their roads and bridges. He says there will be more money in the bridge fund, which should help a little. Still the Governor had been talking about trimming $300 million from the previous state transportation budget.
