Senator Gudex On Right To Work Vote

State Senator Rick Gudex says although he voted for Right to Work legislation like other Republican senators it wasn’t that easy a decision for him. He says he took his time reviewing the bill (as to the pros and cons. The state lawmaker from Fond du Lac says the premise behind the bill isn’t to eliminate private sector unions, but it creates an avenue for workers to opt out of a union if they choose. He says he doesn’t believe that’s a detriment for the unions and the corporations their members work for. He says there was a lot or rhetoric being tossed around during debate on the bill. But he says in Indiana after they passed Right to Work legislation union membership actually increased by 50,000 members. He says unions may have to market themselves better to members and potential members if Right to Work becomes law in Wisconsin.
