Serious Accident At Cty G And Hwy 23

Names have been released in a Fond du Lac County accident that left a 76-year-old Oostburg man in critical condition Sunday evening. Flight for Life flew James Hinz to Theda Clark Regional Medical Center after he pulled out from a stop sign at County Highway G and State Highway 23 in the Town of Forest into the path of a semi. The semi-driver 42-year-old Lao Yang of Waupaca was not injured. The truck he was driving belongs to Tip Top Shows of Waupaca. Hinz was heading north and Yang was traveling west when the accident occurred at 5:25 p.m.

        

  On Sunday,
August 30, 2015, at approximately 5:25pm, the Fond du Lac County Communications
Center received a report of a two vehicle crash at the intersection of STH 23
and CTH G in the Town of Forest.

            The crashed
occurred when a passenger vehicle, operated by a 76 year old Oostburg man, was
traveling north on CTH G and failed to stop at the stop sign.  The north bound passenger vehicle travelled
into the intersection as was struck by westbound semi-tractor operated by a 42
year Waupaca man.

            The
operator of the passenger vehicle was transported by Flight For Life Helicopter
from the scene to Theda Clark Medical Center with life threatening
injuries.  The operator of the semi-tractor
was not injured.

            The Fond du
Lac County Sheriff’s Office, Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State
Patrol, St. Cloud Fire Department, St. Cloud First Responders, and Mt. Calvary
Ambulance all responded to the scene.

            The crash
remains under investigation by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.
