Severe Weather Safety & Spotter Training Classes Offered This Week

Fond du Lac County Emergency Management and the National
Weather Service are offering two opportunities to attend a Severe Weather Safety
and Storm Spotter Training class this week as part of Severe Weather Awareness
Week in Wisconsin. Both training sessions will be held Tuesday – one at the
Fond du Lac Public Library from 1 until 3 pm, with the second in the
legislative chambers at the Fond du Lac City/County Government Center from 6:30
until 8:30 pm. The first hour will focus on severe weather safety, with the
second hour covering storm spotter training. Both presentations are free and
open to the public.

In addition to the training – Severe Weather Awareness Week
will include the Statewide Tornado Drill on Thursday, with mock Tornado
Warnings issued at 1:45 pm and 6:45 pm. If there is a threat of severe weather
on Thursday, the drill will be postponed until Friday.
