Sheboygan City Council Votes Down Tougher Immigration Enforcement

The Sheboygan Common Council Monday night voted down a resolution that would have tightened the City’s immigration enforcement. It would have given police authority to obey and follow federal law in detaining illegal aliens and allow the transfer of them to the custody of U.S. Homeland Security. The vote was 14 to 1. Prior to the meeting hundreds of protesters gathered outside the Sheboygan City Hall urging defeat of the resolution.
