Sheriff Fink Dismissed From Civil Rights Lawsuit

Fond du Lac County Sheriff Mick Fink has been dismissed as a defendant from a civil rights lawsuit filed by the sister of a murder suspect against City and County officials. A lawyer for Tina Ewell filed the suit in federal court in Milwaukee last August. It contends her civil rights were violated when she was held in the Fond du Lac County Jail in connection with the disappearance of her brother-in-law Timothy Nance in November of last year. Ewell was held for two weeks without being charged, nearly two days of that time was in solitary confinement. Her sister Eve Nance was eventually charged for his murder. Ewell was released on December 2nd of 2013 after Nance allegedly confessed to the crime. Among those originally named as defendants in the lawsuit were District Attorney Eric Toney, Assistant DA Dennis Krueger, Fond du Lac Police Detectives Bill Ledger and Matt Bobo and Sheriff Mick Fink. No trial dates has been set in the case.
