Sheriff Fink Opposes Sex Offender Release In Eldorado

Fond du Lac County Sheriff Mick Fink
is opposed to the release of a 51-year-old sex offender in the Town of Eldorado.
In a released statement Fink says that a Milwaukee County judge on December 16th
will decide on the placement of Clint Rhymes who was convicted of sexual assault
and attempted homicide in that county in a 1988 case. Fink says the “statewide
search” order initiated by Milwaukee County appears to be a clear case of “not
in my backyard” due to Milwaukee Alderman Toney Zelinski requesting that the
court not place Rhymes in his district. Fink says he expressed his objections to
the state’s Department of Human Services due to the violent and disturbing
nature of Rhymes convictions and the fact that he is not from Fond du Lac
County. He says he has no legal standing to refuse placement. Fink will hold an
informational meeting at the Eldorado Town Hall next Monday night at 6 p.m. to
state his position on the placement.
