Sheriffs Helping Sheriffs

Members of the Badger State Sheriffs’ Association are reaching out to help fellow law enforcement officers in Texas who were victims of Hurricane Harvey. The “Sheriffs Adopting Sheriffs” assistance program will be collecting donations until October 1st. Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt says Texas law enforcement officers may also have been hurricane victims, but were too busy helping out residents during the hurricane to see after their own families and homes. A similar effort aided law enforcement officers on the east coast during Hurricane Sandy. Four Sheriff’s deputies were helped out through that effort. The public can help out through participating Sheriff’s offices. Dodge County residents can drop off or send their contributions to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office. Checks can be made out to the Dodge County Law Enforcement Association.
