A shooting in the city last night leaves one man injured, and a number of people taken into custody for questioning. The incident started just after 8:00 p.m Wednesday, with 9-1-1 calls coming in stating a male had been shot in the 200 block of 8th St. Officers arrived on the scene to find a 20-year old Fond du Lac man with a gunshot wound to his leg. The injury was not life-threatening and he was taken to St. Agnes Hospital

The ensuing investigation uncovered a vehicle involved in the shooting had fled the scene, with police locating it in the 400 block of Roosevelt St. A search warrant was issued, with the Fond du Lac Police Department SWAT and Crisis Negotiation teams assisting in the search. The search warrant resulted in multiple individuals being taken into custody for questioning. The investigation is continuing. Assistance on the scene was provided by the FDL County Sheriff’s Department, FDL Fire/Rescue and Ripon PD K-9 Unit.
