Shooting Suspect Had Several Weapons

Fond du Lac Assistant Police Chief Steve Klein says it’s fortunate nobody was hurt when a 19-year-old Fond du Lac man fired off shots in the city and village of North Fond du Lac Wednesday night. The man was arrested during a high-risk traffic stop in North Fond du Lac. Klein says the man used a handgun to fire off several rounds when a fight broke out at a soccer game on Glenwood Drive in the city. But it wasn’t the only gun he had. He also had an AR-15 assault rifle, which he fired into the air at a residence on Florida Avenue in North Fond du Lac. The man had been drinking.  Klein says it’s fortunate no one was injured during the two incidents. He says there was the potential for it to be a very bad situation. The man is facing criminal charges for the two incidents.
