Shots Fired In FDL

Update:

Fond du Lac Police have released more details about a report of gunshots being fired in the area of South and Elm Streets about 11 p.m. Tuesday night. A Sheriff’s deputy in the City-County Government Center parking lot heard them and saw several people running from the area. Several city police officers and supervisors responded to the scene. A police officer located a vehicle matching a description of one seen leaving the area. The officer coordinated with others to stop the vehicle. Four people were taken into custody for questioning. Later they were released when investigators determined they were present in the area of the shooting, but weren’t involved in firing the shots. Working overnight the investigation led to the recovery of evidence that several gunshots were fired and a possible suspect was identified. Police say they have no reports of injuries suffered during the incident, which started as an argument at a gathering on South Street and led to shots being fired. The investigation remains active.
