Skimming Suspect Enters “Not Guilty” Plea

A Romanian national charged with dozens of counts of credit card forgery in Fond du Lac County says he’s not guilty. Mihai-Alexandru Preda faces forty counts of credit card forgery as a party to a crime. Preda is allegedly part of a crime ring that would skim credit card information from customers through card readers – and then copied the information onto blank cards to withdraw thousands of dollars in cash. He and Catalin-Adrian Capanu were arrested back in June. Capanu waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Friday, and is set to return to court next month.
