Slinger Couples Great Plate Debuts On Food Network Tonight

A Slinger couple will make their pitch for their idea the Great Plate on a new show called Food Fortunes tonight on the Food Network. Rick Kellow and Beth Kuehl have been working on the idea since 2010. Beth says between them they have six children who can make a real mess when they are snacking or eating, which was the inspiration for their idea. They made it to the second round of interviews for Shark Tank last year, but weren’t selected. Beth says the investors on the Food Fortunes show aren’t as critical and a studio audience is polled on whether they’d like to buy the product. The re-useable plastic plate is designed to hold food and a beverage in one hand. It’s dishwasher and microwave safe. The Great Plate is made in West Bend, Wisconsin. It’s available in major stores including Menards and CVS Pharmacy. The Food Fortunes show airs tonight at 9 p.m. on the Food Network.
