Small Army Of Snow Plow Drivers Removing Snow

A small army of Fond du Lac County Highway workers are out plowing snow today. Highway Superintendent Jeff Bertram says quite a bit of the snow fell between 10 p.m. and Midnight. He says roads were slow. He says nine snow plow drivers were out last night and 33 of them hit the roads this morning. He says snow plow drivers had to help out some drivers who got stuck on various roadways throughout the county because they were the only ones who could get through. He advises motorists take their time if they have to travel today. Between noon and 10 p.m. Monday the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department dealt with 25 runoffs and 11 traffic accidents. Fortunately Alliant Energy this morning reported no power outages from the high winds that accompanied the storm.

City Busy With Snow Removal Too

Public works crews in Fond du Lac are clearing city streets of nearly 10 inches of snow. Police Captain Jason Laridaen says it will take time, but the main thoroughfares are open. He says to give yourself extra time to get to work and places that you have to be today. He says there were no major accidents in the City, but a lot of vehicles went into the ditch. He says a semi trying to get into a business on West Johnson Street got stuck early this morning blocking the westbound lanes. It has since been removed. He says if you don’t have to go anywhere today, stay put.
